New Splinter Cell officially announced

After all the rumors and speculation in recent months now finally stands: Splint Cell returns. However, this is not happening in the form of a completely new agent adventure, but as remake of the first game from the year 2002. This has proclaimed Publisher Ubisoft and at the same time betrayed first details.

How close to the original is the remake of Splinter Cell?

The new edition of Splinter Cell is currently creating Ubisoft Toronto. This Canadian developer studio also launched the last adventure around Sam Fisher — Splinter Cell Blacklist in 2013. Accordingly, the team knows well with the brand. Also, at Far Cry 6 and Watch Dogs: Legion was involved.

As is apparent from a current blog entry, the developer wants to hold on the original as possible and, for example, continue to put on the well-known hose levels instead of an Open World. The original flair wants the team to keep maintaining, which also applies to basic gameplay mechanics.

However, some adjustments are planned to make the leap from Splinter Cell into the current time a bit easier. These include new comfort functions and smaller improvements. Especially graphic should do a lot: Ubisoft Toronto sets for the remake to the snowdrop engine, which was already used at The Division 2.

When will the remake of Splinter Cell appear?

A concrete release date for the new edition of Splinter Cell does not exist so far. The statements of Ubisoft Toronto is currently still at a very early stage.
