Hertha BSC also 2020/21 with a significant loss

As managing director Finance Ingo Schiller announced on Thursday, the branched Bertha BSC GmbH & Co. GAA has a loss of 83.3 million euros as of June 30, 2022. Already in the company year 2019/20 also strongly characterized by Corona, Berliners had earned a minus of 59 million euros.

At the end of the financial year 2020/21, 114.5 million euros in income expenses amounting to €197.8 million. According to Schiller, the minus is half about by Corona and half by investing in previous years to explain. Overall, the Financial Managing Director expects a negative impact of 100 million euros through Corona for the past two seasons and the current season.

only 200,000 euros through home games

The missing viewers from the three home games alone this month against the 1st FC Cologne, in the cup against Union Berlin and the FC Bayern Munich caused millions losses. In the 2020/21 financial year, Bertha posted only income from 200,000 euros through the games in the Olympic Stadium.
